COVID Safety

We hope you’re staying safe and healthy! As library services continue to evolve, keep an eye on this space for the most current and up-to-date information.

  • Masks are required. This is in accordance with Governor DeWine’s order and will remain in effect until further notice, regardless of Richland County’s color status.
  • Social Distancing is required.
  • If Richland County goes PURPLE, this is what you can expect from us:
    • Our doors will remain open for computer and internet access.
    • We encourage you to utilize our Curbside Service, Homebound Services, and Digital Resources.
    • All Small Group meetings are canceled or moved to a virtual platform.
  • We are following all current CDC and ODH guidelines and recommendations for cleaning, sanitizing materials, and a safe reopening.

COVID-19 Home Test Kits Now Available!

We are currently able to distribute Abbott Rapid Response At-Home Test Kits.  These kits are provided by the State of Ohio to make reliable COVID testing available and accessible in every county.

Things to know ahead of time:
  • The test is self-administered at home.
  • It requires:
    • An Apple phone/tablet or an Android phone tablet, an email address, and an internet connection OR
    • a Windows or Mac/Apple laptop with a webcam (or a desktop computer with an adjustable/moveable webcam), microphone and speaker;
    • an email address, and an internet connection.
  • The user must download the Navica app from The App Store or from Google Play and create an account.
  • The test kit, the Navica app, and the telehealth session are all free of charge.

How to use the test:

  • In the privacy of their home, the user will open a web browser and go to ohio.emed.com where an eMed proctor will monitor the testing process.
  • Test results are available in 15 minutes.
  • This video demonstrates the process.

The library offers public wifi access to all patrons and internet access on all computer workstations. You can find more information about our Internet Access policies here.

Our printers offer a variety of sizes for printing such as 8.5×11, 8.5×14 and 11×17. There different costs associated with black and white prints and color. You can refer to our Printing/Faxing page for further information.
