Genealogy 101: Getting Started in Genealogy Research

Who are your ancestors? Were they Irish, German, or Native American? In this introductory class, you will learn how to begin your research by interviewing family members and preserving documents and photos. Participants will also tour the Marvin Room to learn more about resources available locally.

Shelby Genealogy Chapter’s 30th Anniversary

The Shelby Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will celebrate its 30th anniversary as a member of the Ohio Genealogical Society.The Guest Speaker is Peggy Lauritzen, she’ll discuss a broad range of topics including the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 and its eventual statehood in 1803.The chapter and library will also unveil renovations to the Marvin

Homework Helpers

Registration is required!Pick up your registration form at the front desk or in the Children’s Department.Homework Helpers pairs older students with younger students to help with homework in the safe space provided by the library.Students Kindergarten – 12th Grade are welcome to register as either a Helper or a Helpee.
