Children’s Updates: February 24, 2021

Dear Reader, 
I hope you enjoyed the snow last month. I imagine that you all got to either sled, shovel, skate, taste an icicle, build a snowman, or make a snow angel this winter. Meanwhile, inside I enjoyed reading stories about presidents to preschoolers and virtually to school aged children.
The wonder in the children’s eyes and the looks on their faces when their heads are full of knowledge and new facts makes reading worthwhile. I didn’t forget you Pioneer Preschoolers. We read books on dentistry and teeth via Zoom.
Keep on reading parents, children, grandparents, and caregivers. Next Month will not be reading about winter or snow as we are all ready for Spring.

I hope you’ve taken advantage of the weather to catch up on some of your reading. January to March is some of the best reading time all year because its too cold and gross to go outside.
 It was so nice to see some of you at our Take Your Child to the Library Day activities! Miss Jami REALLY misses seeing everyone on a regular basis! This month get ready for IditaRead-the contest runs March 1 through March 31. It’s one of my favorite things all year. We’ve also figured out how to do LEGO Contest this year. I know how much everyone missed it last year. This year children ages 7-18 are invited to build their creations at home and bring them to the library for judging and display. All of our prizes include LEGO kits this time! See our Children’s Programs Page for all of the details, rules, and deadlines.
I hope that you’re getting some enjoyment out of our virtual Story Times for Age 2-5 and Kindergarten-3rd Grade, Family Nights, Special Events, and all of Ms. Robyn’s Story Times. Don’t forget every week we offer a different Take & Make Activity for both Story Time and Family Night.
