Hello and Happy Spring!
I’m so excited to getting ready for April! The nice weather has put me in a good mood, we’re ordering new books, my 7 year (OMG) work-iversary is coming up, and we’re starting to plan for Summer Reading 2021: Tails and Tales. Things are really looking up compared to last year at this time. Speaking of, if you have a few minutes check out these videos of staff reflecting on the year since our COVID Shutdown.
Looking forward, we’re planning our first in-person Children’s Activity since last March. Not going to lie, Miss Jami is a little nervous. It’s almost like being brand new all over again, only with a little more confidence. Anyway, we’re excited to invite you to our Arbor/Earth Day Celebration on April 17 at 10:30 am in the pavilion. Registration is required as we’re still working with group limits. That will be available beginning on April 1. Since we’re outside we’ll be adding a little scientific exploration to our usual batch of books and crafts. We will also be offering virtual options for those people who cannot attend in person; we’ll have a Take & Make Bag and videos on the Special Events Playlist. While I’m still grateful for the virtual options and that we live in a time when technology has allowed us to continue to connect with each other, I for one am much more excited about meeting in person!
I’d like to close a little differently this month and say thank you to all of you. April 1 will be my 7th anniversary as your Children’s and Young Adult Librarian. This is my first real grownup job, and it could not have been better. I love what I do, I love seeing all of you, I’m so happy to be here for you and with you as your children grow. It has been so much fun and I have really enjoyed growing and learning with all of you. I can’t wait to see what the next seven years has in store for us!
Happy Reading!
~Miss Jami
Dear Reader,
I hope you have enjoyed he month of March. We have had some great weather and great books. I have enjoyed reading and learning about dinosaurs. Did you know that dinosaur fossils were found as recently as 2017 in Canada? There’s always something exciting to learn at Marvin Memorial Library.
See you soon,
Happy Reading,
~Ms. Robyn
